Good Morning Foresight Member,
May I first extend my warm congratulations and admiration on your decision to promote your own fertility, preconception care, confinement and nurturing of your young families with a modicum of (if not total) input from a “back to nature” perspective.
And that’s why I’m writing to you.
You see, despite the fact that my training and early professional background is one of purely orthodox pharmacy practice, our team at Wades realises the value of natural therapy, as Phil and I came from the same Pharmacy background.
Not only that, but we are also slowly coming to realise the harm that an over-dependence on pharmaceutical drugs can cause as no doubt many of you do.
And in recent times, food undernutrition from soil mineral decline, and the rise and rise of Persistent organic Pollutants (POPs) that potentially affect reproduction have threatened healthy fertility like never before.
With that in mind, my latter years have been spent in the incorporation of natural therapy into my daily professional life – to the point where it now almost completely consumes it.
Following 20-odd years of studying and practising nutritional medicine, my recent training as a Naturopath at Naturecare college – in herbal medicine, homoeopathy, clinical nutrition, macrobiotics, flower remedies, celluloid therapy, remedial massage and naturopathy – have reinforced my belief in the power of natural medicine. And how it can have a beneficial effect on all four areas of the being, namely physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
What powerful tools these are and how grand it is that you all have been introduced to them. Our great hope is that more people embrace the simple, gentle laws of nature – for maintenance of health – rather than the biological bludgeon of prescription medicine as health breaks down from neglect. That means to you that pre-emptive “strikes” on illness through good nutrition – and these days, efficient detoxification – is a far superior path to placing yourself in a position where your body succumbs to the effect of chronic illness through poor nutrition, food pollutants such as pesticides, and lifestyle choices. Sort of like the Tao philosophy applied to a war against illness.
Mind you, it’s not only in the area of prevention that I have had many rewarding results. Many times, a client has been the victim of a syndrome of ill-health – sometimes for years – before they have found their way to my doorstep. Indeed, the treatment and potential cure of chronic illness has been invariably far more successful using natural therapy than orthodox medicine, in my observation.
So, what is the point of my preaching to the converted?
