Trees and plants regenerate energy

Losing massive areas of trees and arable land has robbed us of much needed energy.

It is quite a paradox that we are deforesting our land mass to “plant” wind turbines and also covering arable land to increase coverage of solar panels.

The miracle of plants, algae and cyanobacters in being able to harness photosynthesis from their chlorophyl to produce oxygen, fibre, starch, sugar, clothing, building materials, cooling and shade is an incomprehensibly wondrous phenomenon.

These give us collectively our oxygen and also potentially clothing and building materials.

To cover them with solar panels is of course an oxymoron in practice. A bit like being an honest politician.

Never mind the act of removing forests to “plant” turbines.

So why are forests disappearing even faster lately?QLD Solar Farms

In their infinite wisdom (not) our world governments are hell-bent on deforestation and general defoliation.  https://www.canstarblue.com.au/electricity/wind-farms-australia/

Why? Because they cannot understand the benefit of the Calvin cycle.

How? Through erecting enormous wind turbines, over 250 metres high, and coupled with thousands of kilometers (miles) of cables and associated giant batteries; then  largely by replacing forests to both erect them and bury the used versions with a 20 year usage time.

And also placing hundreds of square miles of solar panels on arable land.

Who and How do they build these? Through coal-fired powered furnaces/smelters in China that procudes 30% of global emissions that warm our planet. And increasing coal-powered furnace generators at the rate of 2 per week!

Trouble is they are not only over-heating the planet in so doing but they are also also robbing us of vital energy to be able to – you know – grow food and produce oxygen to stay alive. Oops!

And China must take responsibility for this if they are burning it.

Zali Steggals’ incredible conscience-ridden, hand-wringing performance on TV basically saying that we are to blame for China’s emissions because we supply the coal was off the mark. Let China own up, and capture and store it like we should be doing.

Losing animal habitat

This also means of course that animals are also dying out along with the plants.

And as mankind is carnivouous as well as herbivorous then I guess that we won’t have enough of any sort of  food to go around.

Unless things and attitudes change. Double oops!

Scientists are “puzzled” by the sudden spike in global warming. Why?

(SMH 27/3/24). The answer is pretty obvious really. Forests cool the land and air because their little chlorophyll factories that produce starch, fibre and oxygen are endothermic (cooling) reactions. But the added bonus is that the material they use to do this is the very gases that are over-warming our planet – carbon dioxide and water vapour.

So they keep us and animals cool underneath and help the air cool down enough to allow water vapour to become rain – that waters the plants and so perpetuate the cycle.

And keep our seasons nice and balmy and comfortable. Or at least they used to once.

Oh and water keeps us alive too.

But all plants also create oxygen.

And the original chlorophyll that enables the above chemical reactions to occur to achieve this whole amazing creation.

Equally amazing “by-products” are wood for building materials, and fibre for clothing and bowel-cleansing, food and medicines, and more.

So if the scientists want to solve the puzzle they are always free to ring me.

I will tell them to think outside the box and build new ones.

First – think of adding several different systems to the grid. There won’y be one single “aha”.

Box 1:     Re-plant trees on fallow land. There’s plenty of it around the world. Ask Australia and Brazil

Box 2.     Start CCS-P (Carbon Capture and storage – and Planting) – at power stations. This is being done in Canada and Britain. Much easier in Australia due to abandoned mines within walking distance of most of our power stations. Plant shrubs in them. Power their tunnel lights with solar. Harvest for clothing etc.

All of a sudden we have green coal and gas.

Box 3.     Generate more vertical farms – indoors as well as outdoors.

Box 4.     Build giant algae ponds for cattle feed. Reduces methane production by around 90%.

Box 5.     Build the Iron Boomerang railway. A very efficient way to shuttle coal and iron to make steel at either end. And export the finished product 100% more efficiently. Or use for building in Oz. Steel mills at either end. Saves huge energy.

Box 6.     Build and distribute Australian-designed small electrolytic hydrogen generators for motor vehicles. Save the internal combustion energy for those who love them.

Box 7.     Buy back our patent for offshore current turbines. Will provide all the permanent power we chould ever need. Marine-safe.

Box 8.     Build thermal towers to use and recycle inland water using hot artesian basin water plus a booster method. Sell the product – it’s great for your health!

Box 9.     Build the “harmless” thorium nuclear power stations. Also uranium if more eccessible.

Box 10.    Build centripetal waste pumps to dilute spent nuclear waste and return it in a harmless form to spend mines.

Finally:

Export all of our systems that we can design/build here and help China out of its atmosphere-choking hole.
