Blood Cholesterol monitoring. $15

Our trained pharmacists are able to check your blood total cholesterol with an accurately calibrated device made in Germany.

How does it work?

A simple finger-prick test to obtain a drop of blood. This is placed on a test strip. We use a special test strip that is programmed to indicate the level of blood cholesterol to the photon detector in the sensor device.

Importance

You may be unaware that you have high cholesterol that may threaten your health. Our naturopath/nutritionist will help to adjust your dietary requirements, with emphasis on carbohydrate/fat/protein ratios.

Benefit to you

If positive, this screening test will give a benchmark reading. If high, regular updates will tell us how effective your dietary or medication regime may be. So, if you are on a cholesterol-reduction scheme designed by Naturopath Phil and Medical Nutritionist Kirsty, then this will help to adjust  your regime and return you to health. If on medication this will prove useful information for dosage adjustment.

Frequency

For normal readings, we advise an annual check-up. For marginal readings, quarterly. For high readings, monthly.

Natural Therapy Offer

Should you require a Wellness Programme to reduce your cholesterol readings naturally, please apply for a New Client Pack at no initial cost to get you started.

NEW CLIENT PACKvbmvbm

Prior to an initial consultation, clients at Lane Cove Wellness Centre receive a New Client Pack (NCP). You will need to Email kirsty.wade@wellnesscentre.com.au in order to obtain one of these.

Careful, thoughtful answers to the questions contained in the NCP are required. Thorough completion of the questionnaires and surveys not only improves the accuracy of the client’s assessment but it also improves the efficiency of their communication with us, thus reducing the need for extended consultation time and this subsequently saves money. The NCP contains...

  • Assessment of Nutritional Status (clinic entry form)
  • Mini context of care (to focus you on you) clinic entry form)
  • 5 day diet survey
  • Health history questionnaire (client past and client family history) 40 questions
  • HAQ – health appraisal questionnaire – 368 questions
  • Lifestyle index
  • Medication history
  • Lifestyle/environment questionnaire (for postal clients only) 32 questions
  • Others related to special conditions if required

If you wish to come to the Wellness Centre for a consultation, you’ll still need to complete the questionnaires and return them to the Centre at least 3 days before your appointment, so we have enough time to analyse them properly.
